Students from the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate, have raised the alarm for several dangerous animal attacks.

The students noticed that dangerous animals have been attacking them due to the dense and neglected state of the environment of the institution.

The students also protested against the non-issuance of ID cards after being charged N3,000.

The students in a statement signed by the president of the Government Students Union (SUG), Muhammad Yusuf Olaitan, also called for the resignation of the Dean of Student Affairs of the institution for alleged sexual harassment.

The SUG president, in the statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, said: “My fellow Nigerian students, our university has existed for more than fifteen years, but it has been mismanaged for most of these years.

“Despite charging a scandalous sum of three thousand naira (N3,000) cumulatively, the management has refused to issue any form of identification to students, exposing us to harassment and denying us scholarship opportunities.

“In the 21st century, students cannot check their results online and print course forms despite paying for this every semester.

“We are required to pay Eight thousand Naira (# 8,000) at level 100, and Three thousand Naira at level 200 and 300 each, but no notable development can be seen.

“The school environment is crowded and unkempt with dangerous animals attacking students during conferences.

“The Dean of Student Affairs, who is expected to act as a parent, takes pleasure in having sex with students and threatens to withhold the results

“Fellow Nigerian students, as we continue the protest tomorrow, I urge you to remain firm and peaceful. Our demand continues to be the immediate resignation of the Rector and Dean of Student Affairs ”.
