The Governors’ Forum of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its support for the party’s candidate in the elections for governor of Ondo state on Saturday, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).

The forum chairman and Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal made the statement in a statement issued by the forum’s director general, C.I.D. Maduabum in Abuja on Sunday.

Tambuwal said the PDP governors were united, strong and prepared to do everything possible to secure the election of Jegede, who has the experience, dynamism and program of action to return Ondo’s state to its glory days.

He said the forum’s attention was drawn to a story to the effect that there was a split among PDP governors regarding Ondo’s gubernatorial elections.

The governor described the post as tendentious, malicious, damaging, biased, procured, inciting, false and false and planted by backward and reactionary forces.

Tambuwal said that nothing could be further from the truth.

“We believe that the story is the work of fifth columnists, who fear the popularity of the PPD candidate and his likely victory, and have devised this medium to cast doubt in the minds of Nigerians as a strategy to stop the victory march. by PDP at Ondo.

“Nothing can stop the march of progress in Ondo. Indeed, Jegede’s victory is one whose time has come.

“The Forum speaks with one voice and this naked attempt to sow division and discord among its ranks has failed miserably.

“In fact, the PDP governors just woke up from a virtual meeting a few days ago with the strong determination and commitment to make sure that all hands are on the deck to support and deliver the PDP candidate,” Tambuwal said.

He said that the PPD governors were fully aware of the importance of Ondo’s elections for the image, solidarity and luck of the PPD as a political party.

“The governors have no doubt that any division in their ranks will backfire on the PPD, their candidate, and their quest to restore democracy, good governance and accountability not only in Ondo State, but also in Nigeria. in general”.

“PDP governors will storm Akure on October 7 for the grand finale of the PDP governor’s campaign.

“We will be in Akure to conclude a memorable grassroots campaign mounted by the PDP and its candidate in recent weeks that has apparently turned the tide in Ondo,” he said.

Tambuwal said this was not the time for fake and unproductive news, but for action.
