Deploy RRS and other computers in Ikorodu for thief attack threats

Three suspected traffic thieves who have been terrorizing residents of the Agidingbi area in and around Ikeja have found their waterloo, following their arrest by agents of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS of the State Police Command from Lagos.
This is how the Police Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu, ordered the Commander, RRS, CSP Saheed Egbeyemi and the heads of other operational units, including the Mobile Police Force, the Intelligence Office of the State and PC Monitoring Unit, to move to Ikorudu, following the intelligence report on the threat of thieves to launch an attack against residents.
The arrest of the traffic robbery suspects according to the command’s spokesman, SP Olumuyiwa Adehobi, was the result of proactive measures implemented by the command to ensure a jam-free yuletide.
He said that the squad’s undercover operatives were stationed at strategic traffic-prone locations in the state, during which the 17-year-old Damola Ajewole trio; Omotosho Seyi, 19, and Olarewaju Sunday, 23, were arrested around 11:30 p.m.
During preliminary questioning, the suspects confessed to being responsible for some traffic robberies and other crimes in the Isheri, Ojodu, Berger, Autopistas, Agidingbi, Ketu, Alapere and Ogudu areas of the state. Their motorcycles and operational weapons were recovered.
“The Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the alleged armed robbers be turned over to the State Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, for a proper investigation,” Adejobi said.
On the deployment of some operational units in Ikorudu, Adejobi explained, “it is part of the proactive steps that were taken to strengthen security in Ikorodu and its surroundings. This followed speculation or threats of robbery attacks on residents of the area.
“The operation also involves the Area Commander, Area N, Ijede and all the Divisional Police Officers and their operatives in Ikorodu.”
“While congratulating the residents of Lagos for the celebration of Christmas, the PC calls on the general public to comply with the laws of the country and observe the preventive protocols of COVID-19 during and beyond the season.”
