The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested an alleged human trafficker, Ms. Rita Oti, for allegedly trafficking six women between the ages of 16 and 24.

A statement from ASP State Police Public Relations Officer Ramhan Nansel indicates that 40-year-old Ms Rita Oti, popularly known as Mama G, was arrested along with Nasarawa Eggon in Nasarawa while transporting Makurdi’s ladies in the state of Benue to the Alagbado area in the state of Lagos.

He notes that after a police investigation, his destination in Lagos was found to be a business center that had been abandoned for a long time.

The victims, all from North Bank in Benue State, were allegedly misled by the suspect without the consent of their parents under the pretext of offering them work in Lagos.

The Nasarawa State Police Commissioner, Mr. Bola Longe, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation, Lafia, for a thorough investigation and to unite the victims with their families.
