In a move to crack down on advocacy and other criminal activities in the state, the Enugu State Police Command launched an anti-tout task force in Enugu on Friday.
In inaugurating the task force known as the Focus Initiative Against Tout, (FIAT) “Anti-Tout”, the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ahmed Abdulrrahman, accused the members of the group of being civil, courteous and serious in their performance. of its functions.
Abdulrahman, represented by CSP, Nkeamatara Innocent, warned the task force to work within the purview of the law and desist from using the office to witch hunt your enemies.
“What you are doing today is noble and laudable, but you must do it with all courtesy by giving it a human face. Don’t see it as a way to show strength. It is not a way to witch hunt your enemies, nor a way to fight political enemies. Do it with every level of seriousness, courtesy, and be civil.
“Do it with courtesy so that people do not turn against you because if they turn against you, it means that you are acting against the law and it will be very ridiculous for people to see the police coming against you.”
