Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes paid tribute to France’s star Paul Pogba ahead of the two teams’ tie at Euro 2020 on June 23.
Fernandes said he was happy for Pogba after the 28-year-old won the Man of the Match award against Germany on Tuesday.
Pogba put on an impressive display alongside N’Golo Kante in the heart of France’s midfield as they defeated Germany 1-0 in their first match of Euro 2020 at the Allianz Arena in Munich following Mats Hummel’s own goal in the First half.
After receiving the award, Fernandes sent a message to his Manchester United teammate with Portugal that he will play France in their final Group F match next week.
On his Instagram story, Fernandes posted a photo of Pogba in his post-match interview with the caption: “Happy for you, but MVP only today.”
Meanwhile, Portugal also won their first match of Euro 2020 against Hungary on Tuesday.
A brace by Cristiano Ronaldo and a goal by Raphael Guerreiro gave Portugal the victory.
