Former Presidential Aide Reno Omokri has urged Femi Falana, Afe Babalola, Eyitayo Jegede, Wole Olanipekun and other top Nigerian advocates of Yoruba origin to relocate to the Republic of Benin to strengthen legal teams fighting to prevent Sunday Igboho from be repatriated back to the country.

Let us remember that the Yoruba activist who is currently in the custody of the security agencies in Cotonou, was arrested on Monday while escaping to a European country after being declared wanted in Nigeria by the Department of State Security Services, DSS.

The freedom fighter from the Republic of Oduduwa appeared on Thursday at the Cour De’appal De Cot in the Republic of Benin to hear about his extradition to Nigeria.

However, the court ordered the release of his wife, who was arrested along with her husband. The case was postponed until Monday the 26th, as Igboho remains in the cell.

Reno, in a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday morning, also accused President Muhammadu Buhari of nepotism.

The post reads: “Femi Falana, Afe Babalola, Eyitayo Jegede, Wole Olanipekun and other top Nigerian defenders of Yoruba origin should consider moving to the Republic of Benin to strengthen Sunday Igboho’s legal defense team and prevent their repatriation to Nigeria for part of Buhari administration.

“Two years ago, the Buhari government sent a plane to the Republic of Niger to take the so-called ‘repentant’ members of Boko Haram and their wives back to Nigeria. Google it. A government that does that to terrorists has no moral authority to extradite a freedom fighter.

“This is not the time to just write and talk. We must commit our money, talents and influence to help this man who stood up for us when no one, including Buhari, stood up to help us when murderous herdsmen were wreaking havoc on Nigerians. “
