… As a party affirms the return of Olafeso, others like exco zonal

In preparation for the Zonal Congress of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), the southwest caucus of the party, this Tuesday, affirmed the support for the return of Dr. Eddy Olafeso led by Zonal Exco, calling on the delegates of the zone to elect them.
Following its meeting in Lagos, the caucus, in a statement signed by the zone secretary, Daisi Akintan, the presidents of the states of Lagos, Osun, Ogun and Ekiti, Ing Adedeji Doherty, Hon Sunday Bisi, Dr. Sikirulai Ogundele and Otunba Bisi Kolawole respectively asked Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state to desist from causing division in the party by creating parallel excos in some states.
The statement read: “We, the members of the Party’s Zonal Caucus in the Southwest, pursuant to Section 27 (5) amended in 2017, gathered here deliberate on the fate of the Party and, in particular, with an emphasis on placing it in a solid base in our area and resolves the following: “That we hold firm the resolutions of the Ibadan meeting of March 12, 2020, affirming the return of Dr. Eddy Olafeso as Zonal President, Rev Bunmi Jenyo as Zonal Secretary, among others, believing that to measure and sincere members of the Party, the resolutions and agreements are sacrosanct and must always be respected ”.
“This sequel to the above, we promise to respect the Zoning agreement, as was strongly agreed at the meeting and also support the candidacy of Dr. Eddy Olafeso and all other members of his Executive or new additions injected into the list by leaders of the respective states “.
“That we hereby direct / call upon our Delegates to vote accordingly for all of our applicants, as we are confident in their ability to lead the Party ship successfully.”
“That we call on the governor of the state of Oyo, Engr Seyi Makinde, to stop acting as governor general of the Southwest area and to desist from causing division in the party by establishing parallel state excos in some states.”
“May our vision and our desire is for the PPD to prosper in the Southwest Zone and win elections.”
“As a consequence of the above, the people listed below have been approved as candidates for elections in the zonal congress.
“Dr. Eddy Olafeso, National Vice President; The Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Zone Secretary; Hon Bakene Fasiu Adewale, zonal organization secretary; Mr. Femi Adetola, youth leader; Ms. Abimbola Lanre Balogun, female leader; Mr. Oke Ojo Micheal, Treasurer; Engr Balogun Kolawole Ayuba, Auditor; Mr. Dosu Babatunde, Legal Counsel; Mr. Ayo Fadaka; Zonal Secretary of Advertising and Hon. Philip Olabode Aivoji, financial secretary ”.
“Zonal Ex-officio are Yeye Agnes Shobajo (Lagos), Fagbayigbo Adeola (Ondo), Adesina Adeboye Semiu (Ogun), Ms. Taiwo Abiola Mubo (Oyo) and Mr. Akinade Jimoh (Osun)”.
“The national ex officio members are; Mr. Michael Okunlade (Oyo), Arowolo Oluwole Johnson (Ondo), Captain Tunji Shelle (Rtd) (Lagos), Hon Abayomi Nureni Tella (Ogun), Alabi George Ibitayo (Osun) and Ms. Monisola Omotosho (Ekiti) “.
