The federal government has said it will review the proposed resumption date of January 18 for schools as the country battles the second wave of COVID-19.
The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, stated this while speaking at the Presidential Working Group (PTF) briefing on Monday.
Adamu noted that the previous restart date, January 18, was not final.
“Today at the PTF meeting, we looked at the growing numbers and decided that we should probably take another look at the date.
“The resumption date of January 18 is not sacrosanct as it is subject to constant review in view of the prevailing epidemiological circumstances. We are reviewing it.
“In view of the increase in cases, we have considered it today at the PTF meeting.
“Tomorrow, the ministry will occupy it. Therefore, it will most likely be revised, ”Adamu said.
