The Zamfara state chapter of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) has said that it still insists that Senator Garba Kabiru Marafa remained fired, saying the party had fired him since 2019.
APC State Chairman Alhaji Lawal Liman revealed this while reacting to recent credited comments to the senator that blamed the National Surveillance Committee of the party led by Buni MaiMalam.
“Regarding the APC in Zamfara, Senator Marafa remains fired because, since 2019, we suspended him in accordance with the party constitution and our decision has been sent to the APC National Headquarters, Abuja.”
He explained that he was illegally detained by the former national president of the party, comrade Adams Oshemole, because they share the benefit of APC losing in zamfara.
“We call on the party’s National Interim Committee to ratify the decision.”
“Therefore, members of the public should ignore him as a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC).”
“We do not consider Marafa as our member as he is used by the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) to distract peace and stability in the party, especially in the APC in Zamfara state.”
According to him, disobeying the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) should be reason enough to know that Marafa does not wish the best for the APC, ”lamented Liman.
He described recent comments by Senator Marafa accusing the party’s national leadership as unjustified, noting that Senator Garba Kabiru Marafa does not respect constituted authority.
“We call on the national interim committee to clamp down on him, therefore he must be treated as an opposition.
“We, therefore, condemn the statement, we distance ourselves from any call against the party’s national leadership,” Liman said.
He noted that the APC section of Zamfara state strongly supports the party’s national leadership, “we congratulate the Maimala Buni committee for repositioning the party.”
