Tottenham’s new signing Joe Rodon made his first comments as a Spurs player after his deadline.
The Wales international has signed for José Mourinho’s team for an initial fee of £ 11 million, which will rise to £ 15 million with add-ons.
He is expected to play an important role in their season as the club seeks Cup and Champions League glory.
Speaking about the move, Rodon said, “It’s a great story and joining Ben [Davies] here now is even better for me. Ben and gareth [Bale] They are two great players from Wales and hopefully they can help me settle quickly and make me feel even more welcome.
“As everyone knows, José Mourinho is one of the greatest coaches in the world, and the only thing I can do is get excited, learn every day and hopefully take everything into account.
“It’s a great honor. This is a huge club, and I can’t wait to get started … coming from my childhood club to this position is just something I could have dreamed of. It’s been a great week and ending it this way is a dream come true. “
Rodon will join center backs Eric Dier, Davinson Sánchez and Toby Alderweireld on the Spurs team. He will provide them with extra competition from behind and could become a first-team starter if Mourinho is impressed.
The Spurs are off to a good start to the season and generally look solid at the back. They recently beat the top six Man Utd rivals 6-1, which was a declaration of intent from the North London side.
The result also demonstrated the attacking capabilities of Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
Rodon is unlikely to make it to his game this weekend. However, he could make his Prem debut against Burnley on Monday, October 26.
