Creative industry players have called on Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo to partner with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with a focus on skills acquisition, upskilling and empowerment to succeed in fighting the unemployment and unrest among young people.

Speaking on the occasion of the first MmaIgbo Empowerment Foundation (MIEF) Skills Exhibition and Empowerment Grand Final with the theme “Promoting Igbo Cultural Heritage and Identity through Skill Acquisition and Empowerment”, its Director General, Uzo Ekemezie said that the government couldn’t create jobs on its own due to limited human, material and financial resources.

Ekemezie said MIEF has started training-of-trainers programs to turn graduates into employers of labor to help the state government combat unemployment and youth unrest.

It revealed that in addition to engaging youth in productive enterprises, the anticipated partnership between the state government and MIEF would help ensure a prosperous homeland for Ndi Anambra.”
