A Port Harcourt magistrates court detained a 19-year-old boy identified as Samuel Sunday for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old teenager in Rivers State.

In an indictment read in court, it is alleged that Samuel had on February 14, 202, unlawful carnal knowledge of a Blessing Uduak and therefore committed a crime punishable under the penal code of Rivers State law. from 1999.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The victim had informed the court that she is already four months pregnant for the defendant who was prosecuted by the Human Rights desk of the Rivers State Police headquarters.

The chief magistrate, Gomba Osaro, after hearing from the parties in the matter, was postponed until August 16, 2021 for the consideration of bail.
