The Lagos state government has begun the reconstruction of the damaged buildings affected by the Opebi helicopter accident, last Friday, in which the three crew members on board died.

Recall that a Bell 206 helicopter, belonging to Quorum Aviation, crashed between two residential buildings, Number 14 and 16, Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja, at noon on Friday.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a day later conducted an on-site assessment after the disaster at the site with a promise to rebuild the damaged structures.

According to the Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the reconstruction of the fence and the affected buildings began in the early hours of Monday, following the governor’s promise.

He said the state government will conduct integrity tests on affected buildings within a 100-meter radius and carry out necessary repairs to help affected families restore normalcy as quickly as possible.

Speaking at the construction site, the LASEMA chief said that beyond conducting integrity tests and impact assessments on the affected buildings and the entire disaster area within a 100-meter radius, the restoration journey has begun. fast to normal.
