‘There is still no agreement with the Falcons coach’

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports that its technical committee is ready to sign a one-year contract with Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum.

The NFF recently put an end to the Waldrum controversy when it announced that its technical committee had been mandated to begin negotiations with the American over a new contract.

Waldrum, who led Nigeria to the second round of the 2023 Women’s World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, said after the tournament that she would like to continue her job until at least the 2024 Paris Olympics.

NFF Media Director Ademola Olajire reaffirmed during the week that the NFF Technical Committee would soon begin negotiations with Waldrum, although she dismissed news of a new deal for the coach.

Olajire said: “No one has talked about how many months/years the Falcons coach will be given. This will only be known after the technical committee’s conversations with him.”
