Following Mohbad’s sudden death and burial, many Nigerian celebrities have taken turns calling for justice for the late singer.
Mohbad, 27, died on September 12 and was buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
As a host of compelling evidence continues to emerge, it is becoming increasingly evident that the late singer was not only subjected to bullying, harassment and physical assault, but may also have been dealing with deep depression until his untimely passing.
nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticized his colleagues, claiming that he has been bullied and insulted for more than a year by the same people who are now mourning the late singer Mohbad.
Some Nollywood actors such as Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dike, Toyin Abraham, Abimbola Kazeem and Lizzy Jay have recently taken to social media to demand “Justice for Mohbad”.
Yul said he faced the same torment that Mohbad faced before his tragic passing, all because of his decision to embrace a second marriage.
The 41-year-old actor made this known in a post on his official Instagram page on Monday.
Yul described his colleagues demanding justice for Mohbad as “hypocrites and influence chasers.”
After welcoming a son with his colleague-turned-second-wife Judy Austin in April 2022, the controversial actor has faced criticism from fans and colleagues.
Yul said: “Everyone who posts Justice for Mohbad, including people in Nollywood, is no different from those who mistreated Mohbad.
“You are all demons and evil people, just chasing influence. You are all the same people who have been insulting me for more than a year. “You were harassing me on social media, trying with all your might to kill me for matters that do not concern you just because I made a personal decision for my life that is not your business.”
Chasing influence?
Yul further questioned the authenticity of his support for Mohbad, stating that these actions are nothing more than a quest for online popularity.
“How many of you fought for Mohbad when he was alive? Now that he’s late, you’re using him to drive traffic to your page: useless people.
“Only because men don’t talk. None of you know what I’m going through at home that inspired my decision. How many people in Nollywood come out and say ‘enough’? You’re all waiting for me to die so you can post my picture and write your ‘Justice for’ nonsense. [sic]
Several controversies have followed Yul and Judy’s marriage.
Before Judy, he was married to May for more than 17 years, a union that produced four children: a girl and three boys.
Their first son, Kambichukwu, died on March 30 after suffering an attack while playing football with his schoolmates.
