Linda Nwafor, wife of the late actor Obinna Nwafor, better known as Saint Obi, broke her silence on the untimely passing of her husband.
Saint Obi passed away on May 8 in Plateau State at the age of 57 after battling a long illness.
He was buried on August 18 in his hometown, Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Imo State.

Until his death, the couple was embroiled in a complicated divorce controversy that hit the internet in February 2022.
Yeah! The magazine captured her on video at her funeral. There, she said that it was difficult for her to accept that her children no longer had a father.

Recounting their love story, Mrs. Nwafor said: “I think our meeting was divinely orchestrated. You were very domesticated; You could cook, bake and clean. I miss you. I still don’t know how to feel.
“You told our mutual friends immediately after you laid eyes on me that the only reason I wasn’t married was because I was waiting for you. You called me your wife even before you spoke to me. She was all spiritual and part of God’s plan. You told me that you knew that I would be your wife the first day we met at the airport when I was on my way to see my parents; It was October 2006.”
He also spoke about his death and the effect on his young family.
“This shouldn’t have happened. It’s hard to accept that you’re gone, that my children will no longer have a father and that I will no longer support your corpulent figure. My children and I pray for you daily. Your death has left us dejected. Losing you in the cold hands of death is my deepest pain. Nothing can heal the pain inside. I love you and always have.”

Shortly after Saint Obi’s death, a close associate of the late actor, Zik Zulu Okafor, sent the internet into a frenzy with a lengthy post about the late actor’s marital life and how it may have led to his passing.
However, the family, in a statement signed by two of his sisters, Ugoeze Edith Chinyere Obichuku and Freda Nwachukwu, denied Mr Okafor’s allegations, calling them “false” and “malicious”.

The late movie star was the father of three children, two sons and a daughter, Chideta, Obinna and Nnemdi.
At his funeral, his first son, Chidera, noted that his father’s death forced him to become a man.
She described her late father as an “incredible actor who made people smile” and thanked him for making an impact on her life.
“Thank you for teaching me the way of life. I know you are taking care of me. I have been forced to grow up and become a leader. I will lead, dad. I will protect my mother and siblings, especially from the predatory press, just like you did while you were here. I will always love you until we meet again,” he said.

It was revealed that Saint Obi spent his final days with his sister, Nancy Jawfu, in Jos, Plateau State, where he later died.
The actor was the only child of his parents and had six sisters.
Her immediate older sister, Hope Nwafor-Okpala, opened up about her final days and reminisced about her childhood.

She described the movie star as her twin brother, despite their age difference, saying they loved each other and even started school on the same day as they were inseparable.

“During the last years of his life, Obinna and I were in constant communication, reminiscing about old friends, our family and our childhood. Even while driving to work in the morning, we would talk on the phone, and at night, we even had group calls with some of our sisters.
“I will always remember the last prayer we said to each other. Just as I will always remember and cherish the last text you sent me, just the night before you died, we even called each other by our childhood nicknames. I called you ‘Obikisa’ and you called me ‘Abunti’”.
