Arsenal are closely following Brighton side Tariq Lamptey, with Barcelona preparing to move for Héctor Bellerin, according to the UK Mirror.
Bellerin participated with the Gunners on Boxing Day, when they defeated Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates.
The Spaniard began his youth career in Barcelona, before switching to Arsenal in 2011.
Bellerin has become a mainstay of the first team in recent years.
However, he was linked to players like Barça and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and Mikel Arteta previously admitted that he feared the defender would leave the club.
Now it is understood that Barcelona is preparing a play for the 25-year-old for next summer with Joan Laporta, the favorite to be the next president of the club, a great admirer of his.
Arsenal are also considering Tariq Lamptey as a possible replacement at right back given the 20-year-old’s dramatic rise this season.
Lamptey left Chelsea in January last season and has impressed for Brighton as an attacking right-back.
Manchester City and Bayern Munich also control its development.
