Nigerian army troops on Tuesday afternoon, around 3 pm, took back New Marte and neighboring communities from Boko Haram terrorists.

This occurs in less than the 48-hour directive previously given to the troops to retake the city by the Army Chief of Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru.

According to the Director of Public Relations of the Army, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima in a statement said that this development is a great success in the fight against terrorism.
