Trump is a symbol of white supremacy.
White is supreme. Trump was president. It didn’t matter what he grabbed or who he grabbed; white women voted for him. He was white, cheeky and stingy against racial niceties as white people should be. And they liked it very much. Political correctness is white cowardice.
If Trump weren’t white, he might have been on the sex offender registry. But since he was the epitome of white purity, he got his way.
Trump said he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it. We thought it was an exaggeration or true hyperbole. But it has fallen short. Trump has shot the republic in the heart and he will get away with it.
He committed heinous crimes that could be challenged, he did a naked quid pro quo, he used the official position to his private advantage, he appointed his sons to high positions and he let them run it all and intimidate people. It came out with a few scratches.

White is supreme. If Trump were black and used profanity, conjured pejorative epithets for political opponents — Nasty Nancy, Crooked Hillary — chewed taboos like a baby chewing on candy, Trump would never be an American president. But white makes things soft and blurry. It showed its color; its color is extreme white. When Trump started, he created a “lying Ted”, mocked the disabled and demonized the media. It could have been stopped. If he were black, they would have labeled him unstable, rude, uncivilized.
During the 2016 campaigns, he said he would incarcerate his opponent. Had it been in Africa, the US secretary of state would have flown in to issue warnings about free and fair elections. When it pressed the Justice Department to reopen the Clinton investigations, the United States had no recollection of the rule of law. When he lobbied Ukraine to investigate Biden, his possible opponent in 2020, most US lawmakers supported him, encouraged evil, and Trump called the impeachment process a witch hunt.
We all saw Trump on the side of racist groups and openly praised the Klu Klux klan. They saw him call African countries shitty countries. Before that, he had committed the instinctive visa ban of Muslim countries. But Trump is the real target, so everything he did was tolerated as he served white biases like no other. He was the man hired to strike a blow at claims of equality.
No one of any other race could have lied so much, behaved like a drunken urchin, and yet be revered by many millions. He garnered 70 million votes in 2020. The same man with so much verbal incontinence once told the dying public that bleach, in addition to hydroxychloroquine, could cure COVID. He didn’t bother to know what the doctors thought of his prescription. Some of the doctors were willing to bow to him and inhale bleach.
With Trump, narcissism became a virtue and withering ignorance in the White House became a national force. He made his advisers superfluous and they considered him a genius. Only when he kicked them out of the office did they come to their senses.
Trump did not pretend. No one was fooled. He announced that he would not accept the election results months before the elections. He rejected the results and pressured state officials to repudiate the results. Trump and his Republican lackeys flooded the courts with electoral demands. Most of them were thrown out. Some of them were so comical that they invited to inquire about Trump’s sanity. Yet 90% of the Republican Party continued to back his effort to denigrate American democracy.
It is disconcerting. Trump pours his contempt on African countries, but many Africans thoughtlessly worship him as a deity and work for his political longevity with prayers and fasting. Trump insulted Senator Cruz a lot in 2016, but Cruz has become Trump’s altar boy. A devotee who would rather see American democracy truncate than Trump surrender to the wishes of the American people.
Only a white man can be Trump. Black and Latino versions of Trump would have had inescapable prison careers in their youth. And if any of them reached adulthood through all the wickedness and ended up in politics with such a dirty mouth, a smelly past, and irreverent ways, they would have been quietly ripped apart in their political childhood. But Trump, who boasted of grabbing women by the genitals and raping them through his star power, is still the Messiah. His sins were not overlooked; they were not sins. The symbol of white supremacy was beyond sin.
He promised to make America great again. So he tried to destroy NATO and WHO. He got rid of climate change and frolicked with Putin, Duterte and Kim Jung un. It killed alliances and damaged American values. And they cheered. They were delirious; their savior had arrived. Perhaps the same kind of greatness that Hitler promised the Germans and got them drunk enough to join him in doing things that crazy people wouldn’t.

He did great things. He once fired tear gas at protesters in Washington to walk to the door of a church and take pictures holding a Bible. He was escorted by great men and military generals. They did not consider it childish.
So it wasn’t entirely disgusting to see protesters besiege and loot the Capitol. Didn’t he tell the Proud Boys on national television to wait? Despite the outrage, it wasn’t obscene; it was all too predictable. A president who incites people to attack the legislature. That might be the denouement, but the plot had been empty for a long time. Perhaps it was nice to see the Capitol police, who had warned early of this protest, capitulate and let white supremacists march into the holy chambers of American democracy with flags of intolerance.
It was all about whiteness, so the police were polite.
If Trump were black, he would have contained or reserved a sleeping space in a madhouse. No one would love the mischief of a black man in America. Except if the black man dedicated himself to evangelizing white supremacy. But even then, despite how overzealous he might possess, it would be labeled a fake. Imagine a black president who changes the name of CNN Corrupt News Network and the majority in the US Senate cower?
White is a privilege.
I thank God for sending us Trump.
It exposed the hypocrisy of America.
