Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan will not play again this season and the involvement of teammate Spencer Dinwiddie is also in doubt after they both tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday.

The NBA plans to continue its restart plans at Disney World in Orlando on July 30, even though Florida is battling a surge in coronavirus cases in recent days.

“I found out last night and reconfirmed today that I tested positive for Covid upon returning to the market. As a result of this, I will not be in Orlando for the resumption of the season,” Jordan said on Twitter Monday.

Guard Dinwiddie told sports news site The Athletic that he had experienced symptoms “including fever and chest tightness.”

He said it was unclear if he would be able to play in Orlando, where 22 teams will be in the rest of the season.

Players must travel to Florida for training camp in early July, and teams will play fan-free games in a “bubble” designed to protect players and team personnel from the outside world.

It is yet another blow to the Nets’ playoff ambitions that they no longer have stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant due to injury.

On Sunday, another Nets player, forward Wilson Chandler, ruled out the NBA season restarted, citing security fears about the coronavirus.

Chandler told ESPN that he had chosen to skip the restart in Orlando to spend more time with his family.
