Tyson Fury said Monday that he can knock out fellow British heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua in two rounds because of his recent form.

WBC belt holder Fury said that after Joshua’s last two fights, a unanimous points decision over Andy Ruiz Junior in December 2019 and a ninth round stoppage of Kubrat Pulev last month, the fight failed. it would be competition.

Fury won a unanimous points decision over Swede Otto Wallin in September 2019 before an impressive seventh round knockout to take the WBC title from Deontay Wilder last February.

“I don’t think he’s (Joshua) as good as people think he is, or they don’t think he’s himself,” Fury told Sky Sports.

“He has a trust problem. It comes off two shaky performances and boxing is all about who is fit and who is not. In his last two fights, he is out of shape.

“On mine, I am, so the momentum is with me and I think I’ll get it out early, very early, maybe even a round or two.”

Fury is optimistic that the fight, which would be one of the biggest in British boxing history, will take place as soon as possible.

Possible obstacles in the way of the super fight include Joshua’s WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk and another possible encounter between Fury and Wilder.

– “Fight one on one” –
Fury, 32, said now was the time for Joshua to back up his words and finally fight him.

“As long as the world returns to normal, whatever is normal after this pandemic, that’s when this fight is going to happen,” he said.

“This fight has been brewing for a long time. They have been avoiding me for a long time and now it finally has to happen.

“Either they run away from the fight and announce it publicly or they take the fight. Either way, it’s a lose-out situation. “

Fury believes it is imperative that the fight happen sooner rather than later, comparing the fight to the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight that finally took place in 2015.

Mayweather won it by unanimous decision.

“Boxing is one of those sports where you rarely see the best fight the best,” Fury said.

“It is always the champion who chooses his opponents and never the best two fight each other.

“We watched the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, we’ve been waiting for that fight for 10 years. When it finally happened, I think Pacquiao was past his prime. Maybe it should have happened four or five years earlier.

“So hopefully we can go one-on-one with not just the two best heavyweights, but also two heavyweights who are in their prime and haven’t gotten over it.”
