Nigerian midfielder Anthony Uzodimma won the player of the match award after scoring the winning goal for Giresunspor in a 2-1 injury-time victory over Boluspur in a Turkish 1st Lig match.

The talented 21-year-old midfielder, who was playing his first game for his team, scored a spectacular header goal in the 95th minute, which earned his team all three points.

Uzodimma, who is on loan to Giresunspor from Kayserispor. Surprisingly he came from the bench to score a goal that turned out to be the winner of the match.

The goal sent his teammates into wild jubilation as they had resigned themselves to settling for a share of the points with their opponents until Uzodimma’s magic blow turned things around to the delight of the entire team.

In fact, the TV commentators’ reaction to Uzodimma’s goal was so electrifying and exhilarating that it evoked emotional thoughts in viewers.

This was Uzodimma’s first professional goal and also his first goal for his new team in the Turkish second division.

The goal and the award will increase Uzodimma’s chances of playing a starting role in his team given the instant impact he had on his debut game.
