The West African Examination Council (WAEC) released on Monday the results of candidates who took the West African High School Certificate Exam 2021 in Nigeria.
Mr. Patrick Areghan, Head of the National Council Office in Nigeria, made the announcement during a press conference.
WAEC has now asked candidates to verify their results through their website using the verification PIN on their smart identity cards used for the exam.
He said: “Candidates can visit the WAEC Direct Online website to check their result.”
Areghan also revealed that the percentage of candidates who obtained credit and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, was 65.24%, he said that there is an appreciable improvement of 16.46% in performance in this regard.
He added that the results of 170,146 candidates, representing 10.9% of the total number of candidates who took the exam, are being withheld in connection with several reported cases of negligence in the exams.
