In the context of the alleged sexual abuse of a female student on their Uyo campus, Deeper Life High School authorities have ensured that the truth will prevail in this regard.

Education Secretary Thelma Mailaka in a two-minute video obtained by claimed that the school is based on its core value of integrity and fairness, as such would not cover up any wrongdoing in any way.

He argued that the investigation would be transparent and that justice would be served at the end of the day regardless of who the ox was gnawed on.

He praised the Akwa Ibom state government for ordering an investigation into the matter in an attempt to ensure “neutrality and a dispassionate outcome.”

She revealed that the school authorities ensured that the staff members and students allegedly identified in the act appeared before the investigation panel to testify, and noted that, knowing the mental and physical stress that the victim was going through, the school would continue to fill him with love within. the limit her parents could afford.

Her words: “This is one more statement than the first one we shared with demanding observers regarding the accusation of sexual abuse of a JS1 student, Don Davies at our campus in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

“First, let me remind you that the Akwa Ibom state governor’s office has taken over the investigation of the matter to ensure neutrality and a dispassionate outcome. We appreciate the caring effort of everyone who has shown their support in the research thus far.

“We reiterate that we will be transparent and that justice will not only be done, but will also be seen by all that has been done.

“Let’s remember that we previously suspended the director of the affected campus and started an investigation into the matter. We decided to refrain from further comment after the first update because we feel that it is subjudicial to comment on a matter under investigation.

“However, considering the potential impact of this issue, especially what we advocate for, we are forced to provide an early update before the government publishes the final report.

“The panel has sat down and we introduce the staff members and students from our school who have been mentioned in this particular case throughout the investigation period. We believe that the government will share the final report once the investigation is complete.

“Second, as a parent, I am concerned about the physical and mental health of Don Davies, who is at the center of this problem. Despite the intriguing basis, we will continue to show our love to her within the limits allowed by her parents. We have an unshakable trust in our God to solve the problem in such a way that at the end of the day the truth will finally prevail.

“Third, I would like to inform you that the Police are also investigating this matter. And we have been invited to share our own side of the story. However, the detailed questioning was postponed due to holidays. We believe that the police authorities will communicate a new date as soon as possible.

“Finally, we would like to reiterate that Deeper Life High School is founded on a core value of integrity and fairness and we will not attempt to cover up any immoral act under any pretext. We urge the public to be attentive to the final report that will soon be published by the competent authority. “
