A building belonging to a pastor attached to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in the Adebun area of Ado-Ekiti has been razed by youths aggrieved by a missing seven-year-old girl who was found dead in their home.
Newslodge learned that the lifeless body of the girl, identified as Demilade, would have been found in the pastor’s home after she was declared missing on Monday.
Her parents reportedly sent Demilade on an errand before she was allegedly mugged and killed by the pastor’s daughter, who was believed to be mentally deranged.
The seven-year-old girl’s parents are said to have raised the alarm when she was unable to return from her errand.
The alarm prompted residents to embark on a search until the lifeless body was allegedly found in the pastor’s home.
Ekiti state police public relations officer ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident to the journalist on Tuesday, stating that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder.
He said: “The body of the girl had been recovered and deposited in the morgue.
“The PC had ordered that the matter be fully investigated.
“We are studying and extracting information from the suspect in our custody and will inform the public of our findings when we are done.”
