Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a group, under the auspices of the North Central Patriot, has called on the region to agitate for the presidency.

The turmoil, the group said, has become imperative as the region has not produced a presidency since the beginning of democracy in the country in 1999.

The group urged the people of the region to come together and fight for this position, as 2023 has provided another opportunity for such turmoil.

The North Central Patriot specifically urged its people to take advantage of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) zonal congress to be held in Benue on Saturday, adding that this avenue is a good opportunity to express this concern to members.

The group pointed out that the Zonal Congress is a way to implement plans for the convocation of the presidency of the North Center.

The group, in a statement from its president, Bitrus Paul, pointed out that if there is a better place or time for this agitation, it is this congress.

The North Central Patriot said: “Enough is enough, this is our time to introduce the President. Other areas have had a season in that position, we also have to prove it. The era of playing the second violin is over, we must also lead the affairs of this nation. “

The group noted that North Central is not without quality leaders who can hold office, direct and lead the nation on all fronts.

“No sector in this country should be ignored when it comes to leadership positions. The region has been ignored for too long. This is the time for us to stand up and claim what we believe is ours at this time, ”the group said.
