Nigerian music artist, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, has announced a partnership with the organizers of Nigeria’s leading software engineering training program, Decagon, to help bright young Nigerians realize their dream of become software engineers.
According to the partners, Mr. Eazi will serve as a sponsor for five residents or indigenous people of Ogun State to attend Decagon.
Decagon recently opened applications for its six-month training program that includes room, board, laptop, Internet, and a monthly stipend, followed by immediate job placement with companies like Access Bank, Sterling Bank, and Etranzact after graduation.
He advised interested candidates to visit his website and apply before the November 22 deadline, as the program does not require any fee payments until trainees have graduated and started working and earning salaries .
He explained that selected applicants must have a credible guarantor in order to access the Pay-Later model and this has proven difficult for some applicants who were otherwise successful in the past. It is because of this challenge that Mr. Eazi has decided to step in and guarantee 5 lucky ones from the state of Ogun, by residence or origin.
Decagon CEO Chika Nwobi said: “For some who do not have access to a replacement family or network, Mr. Eazi provides a lifeline and this is the kind of collaboration that will move Nigeria forward. “
Also commenting, Mr. Eazi said: “I have always been passionate about helping young people and pushing them to be the best version of themselves. For some of them, their talents naturally align with software engineering. I am pleased to support this initiative in the hope that they can support themselves and their families. “
