The members of the Congress of all progressives (APC) in the state of Delta have urged to intensify efforts to mobilize eligible voters, particularly those who have not yet registered, to participate in the registration exercise of voters in progress by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The state governor, Rt. Excmo the Sheriff Oborevwori made the call in Asaba during an extended meeting of party leaders at the neighborhood level, local and state government.
He stressed that all citizens who reached the age of 18 from the last registration in 2022 should be encouraged to register to exercise their franchise in the general elections of 2027.
Oborevwori explained that the meeting was convened to further strengthen the link between the interested parties of the party, emphasizing that with a united front, the APC was ready for victory at all levels.
He assured the members their synergy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the collective good of the State and the Nation, while applauding the commitment of APC leaders in the neighborhood, the local government and state levels to the growth and development of the party.
“With the unit in our party, no other political party can defeat the APC. We are working well at the federal level, and we are equally well here in the state. The issue of voter registration is very important and we must take it seriously. From the level of the room, ensure that those who cannot register before are captured this time,” said the governor.
In his comments, the president of the Chamber of the State Assembly of Delta, Rt. Excmo Emomotimi GuWor, reminded the chosen and designated members of the party of their duty to return to their local rooms and governments to mobilize the registers.
He pointed out that working as a team remained the safest way to advance in the renewed hope of more agenda.
Previously, the state president of the party, the Elder Omeni Sobotie, who stressed the importance of the unit, urged members to continue working together to improve the electoral fortunes of the APC in future elections.
Also speaking, an interested party of the party, Chief Solomon Arenyaka, called for harmed members to bury their differences and work in the unit for the growth of APCs and the general development of the State.
Addressing the journalists after the meeting, the Secretary of Advertising of the State of the APC, Mr. Valentine Onojaguo, said that the meeting was mainly convened to consolidate the unit’s unity and raise awareness about the registration exercise of ongoing voters.
He stressed that unity and loyalty were indispensable for the success of the party in 2027 surveys. “Our first and most important conclusion of this meeting is the unit of the party, because without unity, there can be no loyalty.
“The second is to ensure that all eligible young people who turn 18 are captured in the current registry. Once this is done, the 2027 general elections will be a walk for our party,” added Onojeghuo.
