Before the next general elections, the heads of the Congress of all progressives (APC) in the state of Kano have decided to work as a united political family to boost the possibilities of the party in the northwest state and evict the new Popular Party of Nigeria (NNPP).
APC leaders made the promise on Thursday night at the end of a crucial meeting of interested parties in Abuja, affirming their determination to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former immediate national president of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Vice President of the Senate and Senator who represents Kano North, Barau Jibrin; Senator Kawu Sumoila; Honorable Abubakar Kabir Abubakar; former governor of the state of Kano, Senator Kabiru Gaya; Sulaiman Bichi; and the honorable Mohammed Garba.
The controls of the Nigerian Tribune revealed that, in addition to losing the governor’s elections against the NNPP in 2023, the presidential candidate of the party in those elections, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, also defeated the APC candidate, ball Ahmed Tinubu, in Kano.
Ganduje, however, said that the APC bosses were determined to convert the tables against the NNPP into the next elections.

He said: “We are here to examine the progress and successes that we have achieved in our great party in the state of Kano. We are also here to assure Mr. President, as well
“We appreciate its policy reforms. We appreciate the good work it is doing for the country and for the state of Kano. We also appreciate all the appointments it has made for the people of the state of Kano.
“Ladies and gentlemen, everyone knows what happened during the last elections. We were close to victory, but unfortunately, we could not win. However, since then, our party has remained intact and solid. Due to the good policies of the president and our political skill in the state, we have been able to attract many important politicians of other parties in the APC.
“In particular, Senator Kawu has joined our party. The members of the House of Representatives have also joined us. The former president of the state of Kano, the honorable Kabiru Ruru, has joined our party, along with the honorable Abdullahi Saini Rogo. Many members of the State’s assembly, the former secretary of the state government and some commissioners have deserted the NNPP Joined.
“In fact, if I still list those who have joined, you will see that the APC has grown up in force. The distinguished honorable member Abdulmumin Kafa is also now with our party.”
In the next elections of governor in Kano, the former national president of APC said: “We have resolved to continue working very hard to guarantee victory in the next governor elections in the state of Kano.
“We are also here for strategies and encourage our people to register for the registration of voters ongoing. So far, we are doing very well, and we want to assure Kano state that our members will register in large quantities so that, on the day of the elections, we assure the victory.”
