… as PDP celebrates the 102nd NEC Meeting
As a strategy of political stakeholders for 2027 surveys, the Northern Center Renaissance movement (NCRM) has requested the zoning of presidential tickets of the main political parties to the north center.
The president of the group, Professor K’tso Nghargbu, in a statement published in Abuja, said the area had made notable contributions to the political stability and socio -economic development of Nigeria over the years.
He pointed out that despite the sacrifices made by the area, he had not produced the president or the vice president of the country.
The group highlighted the sacrifices of the area, pointing its role in the home of the territory of the Federal Capital, providing power through hydroelectric dams, supporting agricultural development through peanut pyramids and tin mining, and its loyalty during the civil war.
The statement said: “We will not accompany other areas such as companions, backbenchers, spectators or political helpless to the glorious place called Nigeria.
“Being the only geopolitical area that a civil president or vice president has never produced since independence, the moment of North Central leads the country is now.”
In addition, he declared that the ethnic and cultural diversity of the area, which houses Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba, IGBO and numerous indigenous groups, only positions to promote inclusion, tolerance and unity in governance.
The NCRM opposed what it described as “tokenistic gestures” of offering the presidency of the zone party or other secondary roles, emphasizing that its demand is only for the presidency in 2027.
The movement said that granting the presidency to the central area of ​​the presidency would not only strengthen national cohesion, but also point out a commitment to equity and inclusion in the Federation.
The RCRM, therefore, asked the Nigerians from all regions to support their search for leadership, promising that the North Center administration “would foster a new era of cooperation, progress and development for all Nigerians.”
The call occurred ahead of the National Executive Committee meeting (NEC) of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) fixed for Monday, August 25.
The meeting will deliberate on the zoning of key positions before the National Elective Convention of the party that is approaching in Ibadan, the capital of the state of Oyo, on November 15.
