The former governor of the state of Kaduna, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has argued that he does not bother him the wave of defections in the congress of all progressives.

Speaking in a live program monitored in Arise TV on Monday night, he said that the current president was giving the impression that his second period mandate appeared established, with governors in service in the opposition matches that joined the ruling party.

He, however, declared that “Tinubu cannot win, in fact, he will be lucky if he is third.”

The former governor, who accused the current administration of indifference towards the alarming security situation in the country, claimed that N100 billion has been taken from the Federation account in the last 15 months without resorting to the Federal States or the allocation by the National Assembly.

He said: “During the last 15 months, N100 billion deduces from the Federation account and is sent to security agencies. Why have there been no improvements? In 2024, more than 2.2 million Nigerians were kidnapped, 615,000 were killed. Is Nigeria at war? Appropriation of the National Assembly.

Speaking about the pending application of the association, the entire Democratic Alliance (ADA), before the Independent National Electoral Commission, the former governor of the state of Kaduna said that contrary to claims, the coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has not conformed with Ada.

In addition, he clarified that the coalition has not excluded the adoption of any of the existing registered political parties.

He said: “You are not going to war with a single platform. A new party does not have an inherited challenge, however, it takes time.

“But the new existing parts have been infiltrated by the administration of Tinubu.

“We do not believe that under Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Inec will register a new game. Yakubu is not Attahiru Jega and Tinubu is not Jonathan. Those were people in charge when APC was registered.

“The coalition has not executed the registration of new parties and that is why we send the application.”

The former FCT minister also clarified that, unlike 2014, when opposition political parties merged to form APC, it is the people who are in conversations to challenge the APC.

He said that people with presidential aspirations in the coalition are willing to subordinate their ambitions to evict the APC, which ruled out “as a collection of urban bandits.”
