The African Democratic Congress, ADC, says it does not require a coalition with any political party to win the 2027 general election.
This was stated by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, during his appearance on Friday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
According to him, the ADC is focused on building a strong grassroots structure and presenting itself as a credible alternative to Nigerians.
He said Nigerians are tired of recycled political arrangements and want a party that will directly address their challenges.
“We do not need a coalition to win 2027. Elections are won in the polling stations through mobilization and trust, not through television alliances,” he stated.
The ADC spokesperson expressed confidence that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has what it takes to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“Atiku will defeat Tinubu in 2027. Nigerians are looking for experienced leadership that understands the economy and can restore hope,” he said.
He described Atiku as the most prepared candidate with national reach, private sector experience and a clear economic plan.
The party leader also clarified Atiku’s position on the fuel subsidy, saying the former vice president never supported an abrupt dismissal without safeguards.
He explained that Atiku promises to stop the current “reckless” policy of removing subsidies and replace it with a gradual and people-centered approach.
“Atiku promised to stop the current elimination of fuel subsidy because it was done without palliatives, without refineries functioning and without protecting the poor,” he said.
According to him, Atiku plans to first repair local refineries, stabilize the naira and provide targeted support before any deregulation.
The ADC spokesperson accused the Tinubu administration of mismanaging the removal of subsidies, leading to high inflation, transportation costs and hardship.
He concluded that the ADC is already mobilizing members across the country and will contest all elective positions in 2027 with its own forces.
