The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has clearly said he will not support the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, in the upcoming election.

Wike promised he would not back Obaseki or Ighodalo for the governorship race.

The people of Edo State are going to choose a new governor on September 21 when Obaseki’s term ends.

While speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Wike called Obaseki ungrateful.

Wike said: “Obaseki brought his candidate (Asue Ighodalo) to meet me at my house, and I told him I would not support anyone.”

The main candidates in the election are Asue Ighodalo from the PDP, Monday Okpebholo from the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Olumide Akpata from the Labour Party.
