The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (Assend) has announced its exceptional performance in the Federal Public Services Innovation Competition of 2025, emerging as the general winner (1st place) and the third second place (third place) of 155 entries in competence of the ministries, departments and agencies (MDA).
This remarkable achievement was announced by the head of the Federation Civil Service (HOSF), Mrs. Didi Walsson-Jack, during the awards ceremony held in Abuja.
The winning entrance of the Undes, the Carpooling team, developed an innovative digital shared travel application that acts as a shared travel platform aimed at reducing travel costs for federal workers, a solution that earned them the coveted N5 million prize.
In addition, a second team won third place with an N3 million award to develop an innovative digital platform called perfoma, designed to improve personnel productivity and optimize administrative processes.

Perfoma serves as a convenient online secretariat that facilitates the creation and monitoring of the documents, as well as the measurement of the production and implementation of tasks to monitor staff performance, a fully packaged office suite.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Walsson-Jack of Hosf emphasized that “innovation is one of the six key pillars of the Federal Strategy Plan and Implementation of the Civil Service 2021–2025 (FCSSIP 25)”, recommending the participating agencies to align with the vision of the federal government for a dynamic and efficient public service.
The MD/CE of Indec, Mr. Bello Hassan, who was represented at the ceremony by the Director of the Strategy Development Department, Mrs. Gwa Uduwak Zachary, praised the position of the Civil Service Head of the Federation (OHCSF) for maintaining the tradition of innovation.
He also praised the Assend teams for their innovative achievements, underlining the corporation's commitment to excellence, problem solving and a future approach to the provision of public services.
Upon receiving the teams in their office, the MD/CE of Indes declared: “This double recognition is a testimony of the innovative spirit and the professionalism that our teams have once again demonstrated the leadership of the corporation in the deployment of technology and creative thinking to resolve the challenges of the real world.”
The success of the indications in the competition, organized by the OHCSF, is a strong support of its continuous impulse to incorporate innovation in its operational culture.
It also reflects the strategic alignment of the Corporation with national priorities over public service reform, digital transformation and profitable government.
He added that the Assex remains committed to support and scale solutions that improve the provision of services throughout the civil service and contribute significantly to national development.
