• The NCC led by Otti/Nenadi Usman seeks a court order that stops for childbirth as president • It is another useless exercise —Spokesman
The leadership crisis in the Labor Party (LP) has deepened even more as the National Carreator Committee (NCC) headed by a former finance minister, Nenadi Usman, has appeared before a federal superior court in the state of Zamfara, which seeks to stop the national president, Mr. Julius Abure, to parade as leader of the LP.
The Governor of the State of Abia, Dr. Alex Otti, and other senior party officials belong to the faction led by the former minister.
The development occurred weeks after the Supreme Court in its judgment on July 4, declared that the internal affairs of political parties should be resolved using their internal mechanisms, and not the Judiciary.
By the way, both the National Labor Committee (NWC) led by Abure and the NCC under the control of Usman have remained closely in the reins of power in the LP since the Apex court issued the sentence, without successful commitments to resolve the dispute.
Using his ally, Alhaji Sule Garba, the OTTI/USMAN camp, in the demand No. FHC/GS/CS/30/2025, presented an ex -partner motion in the Tort of Gusau, looking for an order to stop and the national secretary, Alhaji Farouk Ibrahim, of the performance of the part of the part in any capacity.
But, on May 15, Judge Salim Olasupo Ibrahim, of the Federal Superior Court, Gusau, refused to grant the order requested by the representative of Otti and Usman, waiting for the determination of the matter.
The judge requested that all respondents, including Abure, Ibrahim, the LP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) first before continuing with the matter.
Subsequently, the Court ordered an expeditious hearing of the lawsuit and postponed the matter to June 4, 2025.
The National Secretary of Advertising of the LP, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, in a reaction to the last turn on Monday, expressed surprise for what he described as the “despair” of the Otti/Usman faction to control the game.
IFOH declared: “We are surprised to know that some of our leaders desperately buy the judicial orders of each corner and crack to ensure that the crisis persists in the party and to stop the INEC to recognize our leadership. In their desperate mood, they left abjust and traveled with the night bus, all the way to Zamfara, still referred to their prayers.”
“This will not be the first time they turn to the purchases of the court order. They went to ABA last year on a similar mission to buy a court order and they were rejected. I really do not understand the type of rigid neck leaders who are emerging in Nigeria today, where people see a mission that is practically impossible, but they will prefer to sink a ship in their deserperation to catch a fish.
“It is unfortunately that until now, some people are still busy chasing shadows, while other serious political parties and their leaders are working the land in anticipation of an abundant harvest before 2027. Why would someone wake up one morning and start fighting? This is not normal again.
“I am sure that the sentence of the Supreme Court has read.
“We are using this opportunity to appeal to all our separate members to allow the reason to prevail and obey the pronouncement of the Supreme Court over the supremacy of the party.”
The NCC led by Usman has not yet given a position on the last development.
The NCC recently established a disciplinary panel to investigate the possession of Abure.
In a rapid reaction, the NWC led by Abure immediately suspended Otti and several high -level members of the LP.
