The governor of Delta, the Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday, presented a speech to the State Assembly Chamber even while assigning 42 road projects for the inauguration to celebrate the second year of its administration in office.
The governor announced several of the projects, including the 46 kilometers of the Ughelli-Asaba road (sectors C1 and C2), the ISHEGU/EWULU road and the phase I bridge I.
Other projects for the inauguration include rehabilitation and asphalt overlap of Mariere Street in Boji-Boji Agbor, the construction of Kwale-Beneku Bridge and opching roads, and the reconstruction of Orhorhor, Chechester and Benjamin Oseregboje in Sapele.
He also mentioned the construction of roads around Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli and the maintenance, rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of several roads in Effurun and Ekpan.
Other works include the reconstruction of failed sections of Central Hospital Road, rehabilitation of the link road between the hospital and the police command roads in Warri, and the rehabilitation of General Hospital Road with a police command route from Warri/Sapele Road to Ajamimogha/Mabiaku Link Road.
Others who listed include Esisi Road's rehabilitation from Warri/Sapele Road to Estate's roundabout with a spur with Nana College Road that links Ajamimogha Road, and the reconstruction of the upper and lower Erejuwa roads in Warri.
The construction of internal roads in Kokori, Mudi Beach Street in Abraka and the Uruagbesa Oria – Abraka – Abraka, outside of Sapele -abraka Road (phase I) are also listed for the inauguration. Other roads include; Itoma Road at Umeghe Umiagha-Abraka, Road of the General Hospital in Oghara, Idumu Etiti Street with a spur to the market road in Owerre Olubor and Mission Road/Ogboi Street with a spur to Ogwashi-Reku Road in Akumazi. Additional roads include Boji-Boji Owa/Otolokpo, Otekpo Road in the city of Elu, and the Okpolo-Enhwe-Uwheru road (phase III) in the city of Okpolo-Enhwe-Uwheru.
Other projects include the Obi-Ibabu highway in Onicha-Ukwuani, Ohorhe/Adagbrass-Gol/Okuodiete Road, Ezesi Road in Orokpe, Okan/Oviri-Agarho/Orid Okpanam Junction. More projects include Odogho Road (phase I) from Ekiugbo Junction, off ughelli -patani expressway in Ughelli, Ovwodoremor Avenue in Iwroovie -Ogor, ofuegbe Street on Amai, and remedial work in the old Umutu -Oku path through Abraka. There is also work on the municipality's road in the Ogbinbiri and Ogbudugbudu communities, a fall in Soki Zion in the community of Ogbinbiri, Warri North, Kokodiagbene Community Road, and internal roads and drains in the city of Kurutie (phase II) in the area of ​​the local government of the southwest government of Warri South West.
Governor Oborevwori also highlighted the emblematic projects of his administration, which include; three high steps and three slipways in the twin cities of Warri and Effurun, saying; “These are currently in several stages of completion and are expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026”. He added that other important road projects throughout the state are also progressing at different stages.
Delivering what he described as the first speech of the state of the state in the history of Delta, Governor OborevWori said that the mid -period report reflects the philosophy of the most agenda, which is driven by the central values ​​of leadership, transparency, responsibility, innovation and excellence.
He recalled that when assuming the position on May 29, 2023, he presented a road map to grow the economy, maintain fiscal responsibility, improve a focused and efficient civil service, promote investment, support social enterprises and ensure that poor and vulnerable benefits of government policies and programs.
He said that his purpose in the Assembly was to inform about the progress made and offer an idea of ​​what to expect in the remaining two years of the administration.
After the Directorate, and for its prudent management of state resources, the Chamber of the State Assembly approved a vote of confidence in the governor.
The vote of trust came through a resolution after a motion moved by the deputy president, RT Hon Arthur Akpowowo, and was seconded by the member that represents the state constituency of UVWIE, Hon Edafe Emakpor.
Similarly, the Chamber also praised him for what he described as visionary and transformative leadership, effective financial administration and a firm commitment to the development of human capital throughout the state.
This was a sequel to a motion moved by the camera leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, who praised the achievements of Governor Oborevwori in key sectors such as education, medical care, infrastructure and youth empowerment.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Ferguson Onwo, who represents Isako South Beurndion II, and was subsequently adopted through a unanimous voice vote chaired by the speaker, RT. Excmo Emomotimi GuWor.
In his comments, president of the house, Rt. Emomotimi Guworor said that Governor Oborevwori had done excellently through transformational leadership and strategic financial management.
He thanked the governor on behalf of the Chamber for the commendable work that was carried out for the development of the State.
