President Bola Tinubu has refused to sign the bill that seeks to establish the trustee of the National Assembly Library for the National Assembly.
President Tinubu's decision was contained in a letter addressed to the speaker Abbas Tajudeen, which was read about the resumption of the recess of one month.

He said: “I write to inform you about my decision to reject the nod of the draft establishment law of the Fiduciary Fund of the National Library of the Assembly (amendment) 2025.
“Despite the commendable objectives of the legislation, certain provisions contained there are against the law and the existing policies of the federal government of Nigeria in regards to the financing of the agencies under the National Assembly, the taxes of the national entities, the remuneration of the public service, as well as the age and year of the service, among others.
“If this bill becomes law, these provisions will establish an unsustainable precedent against public interest.
“In addition to the above, I will not grant the presidential consent to the bill.
“I hope the House of Representatives take the necessary measures to solve the problems identified with the legislation.“
