The resident electoral commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the State of Osun, Mutiu Agboke on Tuesday warned the commission personnel against any act of marketing the process or helping manipulations politically motivated before the 2026 elections in the State.
The resident commissioner who withdrew the warning at a strategic meeting with electoral officers (EOS), officers attending electoral officers (AEO) and other personnel from the State Office in Osogbo, emphasized that misconduct before the continuous exercise of registration of voters (CVR) and the Governor elections of 2026 in the State will not be tolerated.
He emphasized: “I know that it does not matter the warnings and the volume of exhortations given, there are some unscrupulous and indisciplined among you that would go to the devil that will sink this exercise.
“I appeal to such individuals or groups of them so that they have a rethinking. We will not hesitate to prosecute who flows the guidelines for the exercise that is drawn by the commission.
“He must face his work and not allow evils to whisper crime in his audience in any way. This is not time to use his selfish interest to disorganize well -structured arrangements made by the commission.

Agboke said that the online voter registration will begin on August 18, 2025, while the physical registration in the 30 areas of the local government will begin on August 25, and each INEC office, including the headquarters of the State, will organize two registration centers to meet the needs of eligible citizens.
He revealed the key services available during the year, including the new registration for citizens of 18 years or more, correction or updating of personal details about permanent voting cards (PVC), transfer to a new voting unit and the replacement of lost or damaged cards.
However, Agboke said that the INEC in OSun must ensure that he plays his critical role to guarantee a credible and problem -free voter registration process and that he should take into account that the success of the exercise would depend largely on the professionalism and commitment of the personnel at the level of the local government.
Subsequently, the resident commissioner revealed that this is the time for each staff to work regularly for the success of the exercise, promising that they would be granted at the end of the day after the entire exercise.
