Kogi Hospital begins complete dialysis services

Kogi Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, has begun complete dialysis services after the delivery of a state -of -the -art x -ray digitiser and a 4D ultrasound scanner, an important impulse for the provision of quality medical care in the state.

Speaking to journalists, the interim medical director (CMD), Dr. Oluseyi Folagbade, revealed that X -ray digitiser was generously donated by Everx PTY LTD, an accredited company based in Australia.

According to him, the donation arose from a long -standing relationship that he built with the company during his postgraduate studies in Australia more than a decade ago.

“The avant -garde X -ray digitiser will significantly improve hospital radiology services and allow the delivery of digital radiographs with greater clarity and speed.

“The new system will accelerate the diagnosis and, ultimately, will lead to a faster and more precise treatment for patients,” he said.

Folagbade also announced the arrival of a 4D ultrasound scanner machine equipped with echocardiography capabilities.

He described the machine as a high -performance diagnostic tool that would significantly strengthen the hospital's ability to handle cardiac -related ailments.

He pointed out that the milestone aligned with the commitment of Governor Ahmed Ododo to reposition the state health system through strategic investments and infrastructure development.

The CMD also revealed that the dialysis machines acquired under the previous administration of Governor Yahaya Bello had been completely installed and were currently in use.

“The beginning of dialysis services has raised the hospital status among the main medical institutions in the state,” he said.

He praised hate for providing a enabling political environment and infrastructure support that allowed health institutions to prosper in the state of Kogi.

Folagbade also praised the Health Commissioner, Dr. Abdulazeez Adeiza, for its exceptional commitment to reform and innovation in the health sector.

He described the commissioner as an administrator promoted by the reform that had defended the renewal investment initiative of the health sector using the approach (swap) of the entire sector.

According to him, this initiative focuses on the strengthening of the health system, problem solving, data -based decision -making and strategic leadership, all guided by the principles of “a plan, a budget, a conversation, a report and a voice.”

He pointed out that the Policy Directorate and the commissioner's supervision support had been fundamental in the recent progress of the hospital and the broader progress of medical care in Kogi.

Folagbade has started transformative efforts to reposition the hospital for effective, efficient and modern health services since its assumed of a position less than three months ago.
