The spokesman of the affected owners of the house, who is a retiree, AGR Olufmi Phasehun, said that the land in question was legally acquired by his father in 1961 and remains duly registered with the registry of land of the state of Lagos in Alausa.
He said that “this property is not only our home but also our legacy. We have been here for more than 60 years. But since my father died in 2004, land hoarders have been threatening us.
Now, with the alleged support of some dishonest police officers, the harassment has intensified. “
He identified Mr. Tomori as a well -known land hoist that claims to act as an OMOIl consultant (local land owners), allegedly leading multiple invasions in the facilities.
The resident said that “on June 4, 2025, police officers locked the family residence, a restaurant led by a tenant (paradox) and adjacent buildings under the occupation.
According to him, no valid legal order or court order was presented. “They arrested everyone and returned twice, on June 5 and again on June 20.
“I was later surprised to know that they accuse the courts for contempt. Phasehun wondered.
He accused the monitoring unit of the Police Command in Zone 2 of Usurpar on its own the position of judicial sheriffs to block buildings and businesses.
The visibly angry resident said: “They assaulted property as armed thieves, without documents, without documentation. This is not surveillance, it is a shame.”

A lawyer, Dr. Gbenga Eretan, criticized police behavior, describing it as “illegal, non -professional and unconstitutional.”
He said: “This matter had already been investigated and concluded by Force Cid Alagbon. Instead of proceeding to read charges, they returned to zone 2 to reopen the investigations, which is inappropriate,” said Eretan.
He cited section 31 of the Police Law of 2020, which requires that the investigation reports completed must be sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office (DPP) to obtain advice.
Police, he said, has no power to bring citizens to courts unilaterally, but here they are preparing charges in their offices and proceed to court without DPP contributions.
Eretan also condemned the eviction of the owner of the Paradox restaurant as illegal. “This is a matter of tenure governed by the Law on the State of Lagos. The Police have no role in the eviction of the tenants. Section 32 of the Police Law prohibits the intervention in civil matters.”
He requested an immediate directive of the excavation in charge of the Department of Criminal Investigations to the Department of Criminal Investigations Al AIG Zone 2 to return the case file to Alagbon and ensure that all wandering officers in front of disciplinary actions.
