The National Statistics Office (NBS) reported that the main inflation rate of Nigeria in June 2025 decreased to 22.22 percent in relation to the main inflation rate of May 2025 of 22.97 percent.
When observing the movement, the main inflation rate of June 2025 showed a decrease of 0.76 percent compared to the main inflation rate of May 2025.
The data published by the NBS on Wednesday show that in a year after year, the main inflation rate was 11.97 percent lower than the rate of 34.19 percent recorded in June 2024.
The NBS said: “This shows that the main (annual) inflation rate decreased in June 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year (that is, June 2024), although with a different base year, November 2009 = 100”.
About a month, the main inflation rate in June 2025 was 1.68 percent, which was 0.15 percent higher than 1.53 percent recorded in May 2025.
This means that in June 2025, the increase rate in the average price level was higher than the increase rate in the average price level in May 2025.
