… The United Kingdom companies join the Lagos mission to explore investment and growth opportunities of the Fintech sector.
The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has successfully completed his visit to Lagos, Nigeria, aimed at strengthening the economic relationship of the United Kingdom in Nigeria and celebrating deep cultural ties, shared vitality and the global influence of two dynamic cities: London and Lagos.
This visit marked the growing importance of Nigeria as a key partner in the global trade and investment strategy of the United Kingdom, particularly in sectors such as Fintech, innovation and creative economy.
Together with the visit, the mayor of London led a commercial delegation of 27 companies based in London in Fintech, business technology and sustainability, supported by the mayor's growth agency, London & Partners. Under the leadership of Howard Dawber OBE, Vice -Minor Vices, the agency facilitated a series of high -level commitments in Nigeria. The delegation was connected with Nigerian policy, investors and creative formulators through cured events aimed at promoting collaboration and unlocking new business opportunities in Africa.
This visit marked the first official trip through a mayor of London in sub -Saharan Africa, underlining London's commitment to build long -term and intersector associations that support inclusive growth, digital transformation and cultural exchange.
The commitments of Mayor Khan in Lagos began with the participation in a discussion panel in the “Bridge Bridge: how London and Lagos can shape the future of global technology”, where he highlighted how London and Lagos can jointly shape the future of global innovation and encouraged Nigerian technological companies to invest in London.
The mayor of London also attended the reception of Lagos canvas, a celebration of the flourishing creative sector of Nigeria that was co-elanfitrion with Mo Abudu in Ebony Life Place. The reception celebrated the state of Lagos and London as powers of the cultural and creative industry and sought to promote even greater ties among the ecosystems of the creative industry in both cities. From the arts to fashion, music and cinema, central to the United Kingdom's improved trade and investment association in Nigeria (ETIP), which is expanding trade and unlocking new opportunities in the creative economy.
Wrapping his visit to Lagos, Nigeria, the mayor of London will continue his historical commercial mission with Paradas in ACCRA, Johannesburg and Cape Town to hit the drum for capital as a place for investment, innovation and cultural exchange, strengthening ties with countries from the entire African continent for economic growth.
