The special advisor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on media and public communication, Sunday Dare, has described the current administration 6.5 of 10 as it reaches its mid -period mark.
Dare gave the qualification during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye, where he was asked to evaluate the government's performance led by Tinubu on a 10 scale.
“With my complete chest from a vintage position. First, as a research journalist of more than three decades. I have also questioned Nigeria's problems over time from an intellectual perspective. I have written about it. I have read reports on developments in this country in several sectors compared to other countries,” he said.
He defended his evaluation referring to global economic trends, particularly the effects of the elimination of fuel subsidies in other countries.
“For example, I read over other countries, when they eliminated subsidies, why they had to eliminate subsidies and what happened after eliminating subsidies. In some countries, they took four years before they could really stabilize and make sure that the cost of living is reduced. Because the laws of the economy cannot change to Niger which, before which, they took four years.

From his own experience in the government, he highlighted the efforts and resistance of the administration against national challenges.
“In addition, having been part of a previous government as a minister and with what I have seen in just two years, production, ideas, initiatives. Even some of the results we are seeing, and to attach it, audacity and courage.”
He compared the role of the administration with a fighter who faces difficult realities, stating: “You know that he is only the person in the sand and faces the wild boar who knows what is happening.”
He, however, added that there is still margin of improvement.
“Comfortably, as we reach half, we will give administration 6.5 with the benefit of the doubt that with another two years ahead of us, some of these impacts, the results we expect will begin to manifest.”
