At least 34 people have been confirmed dead after a tourist boat overturned on Saturday in Halong Bay of Vietnam, reports state media.

Another 11 people have been rescued, while search and rescue efforts continue to those who still disappear.

According to VN Express, the boat took 53 people: 48 tourists and five crew members.

The nationalities of those on board have not yet been revealed.

The ship, called Wonder Sea, was trapped in a storm around 1:30 pm local time (2:30 am et), which caused it to turn over.
