The state commissioner for information and communication, Paul Ohonbamu, dismissed Peter Obi as a significant threat to the ruling Congress of all progressives (APC) before the 2027 elections.
Ohonbamu, in an interview with Channels TV on Monday, declared that OBI is the slightest of his concerns due to his “lack of a clear plan for limited governance and influence, even in his southeast native region.”
“Peter Obi is the slightest of our concerns. APC cannot be threatened by Peter Obi. What will you do differently? Ask Peter Obi what he will do when he becomes president. He will tell you” let me arrive first. “Without clear displacement of what he wants to do,” said Ohonbamu.

The commissioner emphasized the strength of the APC, citing its national structure, leadership and registration cohesion in the government.
It also minimized OBI’s political domain in the southeast, noting that the Labor Party controls only a state government in the region against the two controlled by APC.
“Even in the southeast, where it is, they (LP) only have one governor, that is, APC has two in their domain (of OBI): both IMO and Akwa Ibom. Enugu.
Ohonbamu’s comments occur after the state governor, on Monday, Okpebholo, warned OBI to stay away from the State if he does not seek permission.
