The richest man in the world, Elon Musk tried to take Mark Zuckerberg to the offer of $ 97.4 billion that his consortium made for Openai earlier this year, but the Meta CEO did not join, he said Thursday in a judicial presentation in a judicial presentation.
According to the presentation, Musk discussed the possible financing or investment agreements with Zuckerberg in relation to the OpenAI acquisition attempt.
Openai said Musk revealed those conversations during the jurors.
Musk, whose XAI company competes with Openai, could not be contacted immediately to comment. XAI also did not respond to requests for comments outside regular schedule.
Operai asked a federal judge to order Meta to produce documents and communications linked to any offer for OpenAI, including “regarding any real or potential restructuring or recapitalization of OpenAi.”
“Meta communications with other bidders, or internal communications, including those that reflect discussions with Musk or other bidders, would also shed light on the motivations for the offer,” OpenII said, describing Musk and a goal as two of his greatest rivals.
Meta responded in the same presentation, arguing that Openai should request documents directly from Musk and XAI, and urged the court to reject Openai’s motion.
“Meta communications with respect to OpenAI’s restructuring or recapitalization (even as narrow) are not relevant to this action,” said the company.
Earlier this month, the US district judge Yvonne González Rogers ruled that Musk must face OpenAi’s claims that he tried to damage the company through public statements, demands and what Openii called “a simulated offer for Openai assets.”
Musk sue Openai and CEO Sam Altman last year for his transfer to a profit model. Operai countered Musk in April. A jury trial is scheduled for the spring of 2026.
