British actor John Shannon, popularly known as John Alford, is currently in trial after being accused of assaulting two minor girls at a party at Hertfordshire.
According to St Albans Crown Court prosecutors, the 53 -year -old actor supposedly had sex with a 14 -year -old girl twice on the night of April 9, 2022, first in a garden and later in a bathroom below.
She is also accused of sexually assaulting a 15 -year -old girl at the same meeting.
Alford faces four positions of sexual activity with a boy and two positions related to the second girl. Denies all accusations.
The jurors were informed that the two girls had gone to a friend’s house after visiting a pub. Later that night, Alford supposedly arrived, bought vodka and stayed alone with them.
Prosecutor Julie Whitby declared that she asked the youngest girl to sit in her lap before kissing and touching her.
In police interviews, Alford denied any sexual contact, claiming that a girl had told him that he was 17 years old and that he had tried to kiss him. He said they both tried to extort the money.
Research on developments is ongoing as the trial continues.
Alford first jumped to fame as Robbie Wright in the BBC Grange Hill drama before appearing in Burning, Casualty and several London films.
It also briefly followed a musical career, with three singles that reached the Top 30 of the United Kingdom.
