The Benue State Assembly Chamber, on Tuesday, suspended the former immediate president of the Chamber, Hon. Aondona Dajoh, for three months.
The suspension followed a motion of a member that represented the state constituency of Vandeikiya 11, Terna Emmanuel, who alleged that the former speaker, last Thursday, brought together the members in his residence and began a political trial movement against the governor.
According to the legislator, “although the Chamber of the Assembly of the State of Benue is guided by the principle of separation of powers, but last Thursday, the former speaker called some members of the Chamber to his residence, where they began a political trial movement against the governor of the State.

“I move that this house must resolve that the action of the former speaker is condemned and that the house should suspend it for six months to allow him to rethink his actions.
Seconding the motion, the representative of the constituency of the state of APA, Abu Umoru, who condemned the action, said that the Chamber had suspended in the past members for similar crimes.
Governing on the motion, the speaker, Hon. Alfred Emberger said: “We condemn in strong terms the action of the former speaker and we suspend it for three months.”
In addition, during the plenary, the Chamber confirmed that the two commissioner nominees previously rejected the members.
The confirmation of the nominees to the commissioner rejected previously followed a letter sent to the Chamber by the governor, who asked the Chamber to reconsider its previous decision.
The speaker read a letter from the governor, which represents the two commissioner nominees, Dr. Timothy Yangien Ornguga and Mr. James Dwen.
According to the governor, the nominees were rejected by the request against him and added that none of the nominees have been convicted, accused or object of any pronouncement of the competent court against them.
The speaker, to the ruling, said: “Our duty is to evaluate and make recommendations to the governor depending on the fact that they will be the governor’s staff through this, they serve the State. I beg with the chamber to confirm their renomination. Then, therefore, the two nominees are confirmed.”
Along the same lines, the Chamber recommended the Governor, Hyacinth Alia, to raise the suspension previously imposed on the President of the State Board of Universal Basic Education, Dr. Grace Adagba, and two others that were previously suspended.
The majority leader of the Chamber, Sateer Tiseer, also read the apology letter of the Subeb chief, Mrs. Grace Adagba, together with the executive president of the area of ​​the local government of Otukpo, Mr. Maxwell Ogiri, and the executive secretary of the State Lottery Board/Junta Sportant, Mr. Michael Upera, dated August 22.
The speaker who ruled the letter after the contributions of the members said that suspended government officials have presented an apology and need to accept apologies.
“Error is human and forgiveness is from God, since the three people have realized their mistake, our decision previously showed that the house has power and I think that from now on, they can no longer undermine this house, and we urge the suspension to be lifted,” the speaker ruled..
