The Federal Administration of Capital Territory (FCTA) has promoted 49 directors attached to the position of director in several departments, moving from the level 16 to 17.
This was a consequence of the Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT), the approval of Nyesom Wike to release the result of the first computer-based promotion exam held at the Duste-Alhaji Study Center of the National University open in the Bwari area council, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
The promotion exam was carried out to eliminate the accumulation of promotion arrears from 2023 to 2025, for workers at level 16.
In a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday, Lere Olayinka, a special senior assistant of public communications and social networks to the Minister of FCT, quoted the president of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Eze, saying that the promoted directors will fill 49 of the 63 vacancies declared in several departments.
Of the 49 promoted, the Education officer’s picture had the highest of 20, followed by the accountant, which had nine.
While civil engineers, social welfare, tourism, fishing and cadres of medical officers had a vacancy and an eligible officer each, the education officer had 820 eligible officers for 20 vacancies, while the administrator had 12 officers eligible for 10 vacancies.
It would be remembered that to guarantee transparency and a promotion exercise devoid of any form of pressure and influence, the Minister of FCT ordered the Civil Service Commission to adopt the most technology -based methodology in the behavior of the promotion exam.
Consequently, the minister approved the application of the Civil Service Commission to adopt the computer -based test model (TCC) for the performance of the promotion exercise, and to make the exam completely compatible with the TCC model and reduce the delays associated with the dissemination of exam results, the Board of Examiners of the Commission established a minimum of 60 percent as the approval mark.
